چکیده

Surveying the condition of pavement is one most important processes in managing road network. The information collected during these surveys allows for calculation Pavement Condition Index, which a derivative cumulative qualitative indicator that evaluates various characteristics and defects. Deterioration modelling measured indicators calculated indices critical element its accurate prediction brings process management closer to higher quality by more efficiently allocating funds repair work. Many different models – both extremely complex simple are used world simulate individual indicators. However, developed based on data certain country or region not suitable another due requirements structures other reasons. In Lithuania, measurements surfaces with new generation survey equipment have been carried out recently but stored databases about sections minimal, it becomes difficult adapt applied abroad missing information. aim this study create index evaluating such quantitative as traffic loads, surface unevenness, type repair, age, climatic zones, construction classes.

Development of An Artificial Neural Network Model for Asphalt Pavement Deterioration Using LTPP Data

Deterioration models are important and essential part of any Pavement Management System (PMS). These models are used to predict future pavement situation based on existence condition, parameters causing deterioration and implications of various maintenance and rehabilitation policies on pavement. The majority of these models are based on roughness which is one of the most important indices in p...

Neural Networks in Stereo Vision Evaluation of Road Pavement Condition

This study presents the method for the measurement of road pavement condition based on a stereo vision method of surface representation. The road is represented as a set of points in 3D space. Problems of stereo vision analysis regarding the ambiguity of matching points images, discontinuity depth for neighboring objects registered on the images, etc. were redacted by used neural networks. The ...

Considering a New Sample Unit Definition for Pavement Condition Index

One of the main components of pavement management system (PMS) is pavement evaluation. Several indices have been defined for the evaluation of existing pavement. The Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is a common index used for pavement evaluation. In order to calculate PCI, a significant volume of condition data -based on distress surveying- is required. The objective of this research is to reduce...

Evaluation of the Pavement Structural Condition at Network Level Using Falling Weight Deflectometer (fwd) Data

Large amounts of seal coats and thin overlays are applied every year by state highway agencies to improve the surface condition of pavements, but these measures have not successfully prevented the problem from reoccurring. As a result, the overall pavement condition keeps deteriorating because of the structural deformation of pavement layers and the subgrade. To make effective decisions about t...

Development of a New Methodology for Characterizing Pavement Structural Condition for Network- Level Applications

Huge quantities of bituminous mix in the form of seal coats and HMAC thin overlays are applied by the TxDOT every year to improve ride quality and seal existing cracks, but these measures do not correct possible underlying weaknesses that will cause roughness or distress to quickly reappear. As a result, the overall pavement condition keeps deteriorating due to the structural deformation of pav...
